Lead Pre-School Teacher
Rising Star Childcare Academy is seeking a patient, attentive Lead Pre-K teacher to care for children ages 3 - 4 - 5. The candidate will carefully develop a creative program, monitor them for health, behavioral, and emotional concerns, provide them with age-appropriate instruction and work with parents to ensure that children are learning and socializing in a positive way. They may also assist with sterilizing toys and play areas and other duties to ensure that the children are in a safe, engaging, and clean environment.
To be successful in this position, you should be thorough and caring with an eye for detail. You should be prepared to meet the physical demands of the position and have an understanding of the childhood development process.
Responsibilities:
Teaching children about core concepts, such as numbers, letters, shapes, and colors.
Planning a curriculum that addresses early childhood education requirements.
Using creative, hands-on methods of learning, such as artistic expression, free play, and storytelling.
Supervising children outside of class time, such as during lunch, out on the playground, or on field trips.
Developing and encouraging age-appropriate learning and socialization to ensure children learn basic skills and concepts, such as communication, manners, sharing, etc.
Maintaining a safe workplace by monitoring children for health, behavioral, and emotional issues and reporting concerns to staff and parents.
Making sure that the classroom is clean, safe, and well-organized.
Setting up the materials and work-spaces required for class activities.
Helping children discover new interests by introducing them to art, music, sports, and other potential hobbies.
Preparing children to enter the next level of care or for entry into school.
Keeping records related to each child.
Working with parents to help children progress towards educational and behavioral goals.
Required:
Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred.
CDA and/or equivalent experience required.
Education relating to care for children ages 3 - 5 years old.
Strong oral communication skills
Ability to relate to young children and adults
Strong desire for continued learning and growth
Ability to carry out assigned tasks, accepting supervision and acting independently as needed
Ability to recognize safety hazards and protect children from harm
Meet background check & health requirements

Child CPR & First Aid certification

Contribute ideas to the planning and implementation of a balanced and sound daily curriculum
Work and play with children, individually and in small groups
Nurture physical, spiritual, emotional, social, and intellectual growth and development of each child
Provide care, protection, and guidance to the children
Ensure consistency of the daily curriculum with the school values statement
Administrative & Classroom
Provide a cheerful, nurturing, healthy, safe and clean classroom environment
Assist in the set-up and clean-up of class activities
Maintain storage, organization, and cleanliness of classroom equipment and materials
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $12.00 to $15.00 /hour
